Miscanthus x giganteus
This giant perennial grass is and excellent plant for biomass, mulch, windbreaks, and visual screening. It can reach 12 feet in a season! Miscanthus is sterile and is propagated with rhizomes. It takes a couple years to establish strong clumps and does not spread aggressively like some other rhizomatous grasses. You will receive at least 3 rhizomes with your order. Plant them horizontally 6” down with the shoots bending upward, or if there’s a stem attached, stem up. Once clumps are established they can be easily divided for further propagation.
Hardy to Zone 4
