Tulip Poplar

$8.00
Out of Stock

1 yr old seedling tree, 10+ inches

Liriodendron tulipifera

This large, fast-growing tree, common in the southern United States, is considered to be the tallest eastern hardwood and has a straight growth pattern with very little branching in the lower part of the trunk, making it a valuable timber tree. Tulipwood is a soft hardwood that is fine-grained and doesn't split easily.

Aside from its timber value and biomass potential, Tulip Poplar produces beautiful blooms with lots of nectar, making it a valuable honey plant.

We plan to coppice this tree for pole wood and biomass.
