Also known as Sea Berry, this plant is prized for its tasty medicinal fruits, incredible cold hardiness, disease resistance, nitrogen fixation, and ability to improve poor soils. The berries are produced in abundance and have a tangy, citrusy taste a bit like Meyer Lemon. We are planting many in our landscape. These seedlings are not sexed, so there are males and females mixed. The males are necessary for pollination and useful additions to the landscape, but do not produce fruit. We recommend getting several for pollination. Sea Buckthorn really needs full sun.
