Hybrid Poplar

$8.00
Out of Stock

Populus nigra x maximowiczii

This F1 hybrid of two poplar species was bred and selected for its incredibly fast growth. Easy to grow from hardwood cuttings, very cold hardy, and a great candidate for coppicing and pollarding. Excellent tree for producing biomass. We're planting it for mulch and firewood. Mature poplars are known for limb breakage and falling over, so maybe don't plant it near your house or other sensitive areas if you're planning to let it grow tall.

You will receive 4 cuttings around 6-8" long. Stick the pointy end in the ground around 2/3 the length of the cutting, so most of it is underground. Very soon you'll have your own cuttings factory and you won't have to pay for them anymore.
