Carpathian Walnut, or 'English Walnut,' is the thin-shelled, well-filled, mild-flavored walnut we're used to seeing in stores. The tree has much lower concentrations of juglone, a growth inhibiting chemical, than its relative the Black Walnut, so there isn't as much of a concern about this tree preventing other plants from growing under and around it.
